Benefit Payments for Active, LOA, Extended LOA, & LTD Associates

This page is for associate use only and not for making payments on your GEICO auto, cycle, or other policy. To make a payment on GEICO auto, cycle, or other policy, please visit our make a payment page.

Below are instructions for associates who are either actively employed, on unpaid Leave of Absence (LOA), Extended LOA, or Long Term Disability (LTD). Retirees should visit our section on making a WageWorks payment.

Associates Billed for Benefit Premiums: Active, Unpaid or Extended LOA, & LTD

Associates, both actively at work or on unpaid LOA for a short duration (e.g. less than six months), must continue to pay their portion of benefit premiums if the premiums were not deducted from at least one paycheck. Additionally, associates on extended LOA or LTD that elect to continue health and welfare benefits while on leave must continue to pay their portion of benefits premiums.

Benefits Billing Statements

As a courtesy, GEICO will mail monthly benefits billing statements to your home address on file. It is your responsibility to pay your premiums on a timely basis even if you do not receive a billing statement; the lack of a billing statement does not negate your responsibility to pay.

You may review your Benefit Billing Statements online in your Worker Documents in Workday. Please see the Benefit Billing Calendar for scheduled mailing and payment due dates.

Additional Information

  • If the total amount due is not paid in full by the due date listed on your benefits billing statement, your elected benefit coverages will be cancelled for non-payment of premiums except as otherwise provided under the Family Medical Leave Act and/or applicable state law. Partial payments will go towards paying your outstanding balance, but will not prevent cancellation of benefits.

Cancellation will be effective on the date following the due date listed on the benefits billing statement. You will be responsible for paying any claims for services that you or your covered dependent(s) incur on and after the cancellation effective date. Cancellation of coverage does not relieve you of your obligation to pay any outstanding benefit billing balances. If you are cancelled for non-payment of premiums, you will not be permitted to re-enroll in any of GEICO's benefit plans until your balance is paid in full.

  • You may re-enroll in your previous coverages following receipt of payment in full for your outstanding benefits billing balance and completion of the online Repayment of Premiums After Benefits are Cancelled for Non-Payment event. *NOTE: Accidental Injury, Critical Illness and Hospital Care Insurances are ineligible to re-enroll following cancellation due to nonpayment and subsequent repayment of premiums. You must wait until the next Open Enrollment period or experience a qualifying life event to enroll in these coverages following cancellation due to nonpayment.

Your coverages will not be reinstated retroactively to the cancellation date. As such, you will experience a gap in coverage before reinstatement. During the interim period between cancellation and reinstatement, you will be financially responsible for all claims incurred and these claims will not be paid by GEICO.

Additionally, to re-enroll in Optional Life insurance following cancellation, you will be required to provide medical evidence of insurability to the insurance company, if you pay in full after 30 days from the date of cancellation.
